“Gentle parenting” in the REAL world

What the heck is gentle parenting? Be soft. Let your child show all their emotions. Comfort
your child – but not too much. Have boundaries but don’t use consequences. All while staying
calm all the time. It’s all confusing.
This virtual workshop will introduce a realistic and practical approach to “gentle parenting” in
a way that is sustainable and recognizes your experience as a caregiver.
Topics Covered:
What is gentle parenting? (and what is it not?)
What does it look like with children of different ages?
How can parents start to implement it with their children?
The workshop will conclude with a 30-minute Q&A session.
The Presenter:
Dr. Rana Pishva is a mother of two, and clinical psychologist working with children, adolescents,
and their parents at Gilmour Psychological Services in Ottawa. She applies tenets of attachment
theory to support clients with parenting challenges and treats trauma-related disorders and
peri-natal issues. She is dedicated to using evidence-based and practical strategies to support
parents.
