The multidisciplinary team at the McArthur Medical Centre (319 McArthur Avenue) is seeking a Psychologist to join their Family Health Organization (FHO) for 1-2 days per week. The McArthur Medical Centre consists of primary care physicians, a nurse practitioner, and a physiotherapist. The Psychologist will be assessing and treating adult patients who are seen in primary care at the centre, both virtually and in person. Office space is available, as well as access to the centre’s electronic medical record system, secure video platform, and administrative support.
Psychologist roles and responsibilities:
• Diagnostic clarification of mental health disorders to assist with treatment planning and medical management of primary care patients
• Treatment of common mental health conditions, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, insomnia, etc.
• Psychological management of chronic illness and chronic pain (an asset)
• Assessments and treatment for third party payers, including WSIB, Veterans Affairs Canada, Blue Cross, ODSP, etc. (if interested)
• Assessment for attention-deficit and hyperactivity disorder (an asset)
• Participation in multidisciplinary consultations and continuing education initiatives held at the McArthur Medical Centre
Preferred qualifications:
• Licensed for autonomous practice, but will accept applications for those in supervised practice
• Bilingual
• Expertise in cognitive behavioural therapies and derivatives
